Back-end Developer (remote)

We are often asked the question: what is it that makes working at Kadonation so special? There is a lot to be said about this, but we would much rather let our (and maybe your future 😉 ) colleagues.

• You strengthen our development team as back-end developer and you help build the future of Kadonation products and services. You will be working on small and big projects with a high level of variety and challenge.
• You are responsible to build and maintain the most important functionalities of our products and third party integrations together with your fellow team members based on specifications. E.g. Automated gifting, HR API syncs, automatization of internal processes like automatic order processing systems, Personalized gifting,…
• You will launch bug fixes that fix the bug and make sure the bug doesn’t return by writing test cases
• Support front-end developers: Building and designing our own API’s and connections with third parties.
• You will contribute to the technical documentation that helps other team members understand the system you build.
• You improve the existing codebase into refactored code that is more performant, secured, easier to read and extend.
• Review code by decent pull request reviews
• Technical support: Good teamwork on tickets is necessary, so that tickets move as quickly as possible.
• You get in on the newest developments to keep learning and therefore improving your and others code

• You have at least 5 years of relevant work experience
• You have a good knowledge of PHP, MySQL / MariaDB and PHP Frameworks such as Laravel
• You have experience with building and designing REST API’sYou have experience with 
• cloud platforms such as Google Cloud platform
• You have experience with CI/CD and GIT
• You have a good knowledge of web technologies such as http, https, ssl, OAuth, JWT
• Communication within the team is essential. Jira and Confluence are your friends.
• The international and multicultural context of projects requires a technical and professional use of English
• You do understand business requirements

• You are a diligent and rigorous worker, with an eye for detail – down to the pixel
• You’re very punctual, and work precisely and very organised
• Writing reusable code means a lot to you and other people can easily find their way in code written by you
• You like teamwork and are a good communicator to make sure the task division is good and clear to everyone
• You can work independently, but do not hesitate if you need any help or advise
• You are a problem solver
• You are very eager to learn and curious.
• Being a native Dutch speaker is a big plus, but not a must

• You will join a growing team that works closely together, in an agile way. The team includes front-end developers, back-end developers, product owners and a UI/UX designer
• A very varied job with room for initiative and lots of new development.… You play an important role in the qualitative growth of our product and services
• Permanent contract preferred, but cooperation on a freelance basis is possible. We offer you a contract of indefinite duration. We work a 38-hour week with 26 days off. You are important to our team, so it would be nice if you could join us full time. If desired, we can also discuss a part-time contract of 80%.
• A good integration of work and private life is important, therefore we work with a flexible hourly schedule and work from home.
