How does Kadonation work?

Kadonation is a platform you can use to easily collect money for group gifts or charity. In less than 30 seconds, you can set up a crowdfunding campaign which will be available online immediately. No strings attached either: you pay a onetime transaction cost of 4% of the total amount collected when transferring the money to a bank account. The money will be transferred to a bank account of your choosing within 3 business days.

Security is very important to us. Our website has received a safeshops.be security label. Additionally, we use a secure SSL Internet connection and only save the details we require in a secure database.

Setting up a crowdfunding campaign

How can I use Kadonation to collect money for a crowdfunding campaign?

You can set up your own crowdfunding campaign at Kadonation. This means you can create a type of digital wallet which people can add money to.

Do I have to be a non-profit organisation or entity to be able to use Kadonation?

No. Anyone can use Kadonation to collect money for social purposes and good causes.

Which purposes can I set up a crowdfunding campaign for?

You can set up a crowdfunding campaign for any sort of social purpose or good cause, such as environmental actions, someone's health, a project, animal welfare, or supporting a community. You can set up a campaign for anything you want.

How much does using Kadonation cost?

Setting up a money pot is free of charge and anyone can contribute without having to pay any additional fees. The only cost you might have is a transaction cost of 4% when transferring the collected money to a bank account.

Do contributors need to pay additional fees when making a contribution?

No additional fees need to be paid when making a contribution.

Managing a crowdfunding campaign

How can I tell when someone has contributed to my crowdfunding campaign?

As soon as a contribution has been made to your crowdfunding campaign, you will receive an email. The contribution will also appear on your crowdfunding page once the payment has been completed successfully.

How can I edit my crowdfunding campaign?

If you are the organiser of the crowdfunding campaign, sign in to your Kadonation account and go to your dashboard. Click on your crowdfunding campaign and go to 'personalise'. You can now edit your campaign's title, description, and picture. On the 'settings' page, you can edit the goal and deadline of your crowdfunding campaign.

How can I delete my crowdfunding campaign?

As soon as someone has contributed, it is no longer possible to delete your crowdfunding campaigns. If no contributions have been made yet, only the organiser of the crowdfunding campaign can delete it. To do this, sign in to your account, go to the settings of your crowdfunding campagn, and click 'delete'.

How do I receive contributions?

You can invite people to contribute by sending them an email or by sharing the direct link. They will then be able to access your crowdfunding campaign and contribute.

Contributing

Do I need an account to contribute?

No, you do not need a Kadonation account to contribute. If you do not have an account, all you need to do is fill in your name and email address. This information will not be made public.

How can I contribute to a crowdfunding campaign?

You can be invited to contribute via email, Facebook, or a different communication channel. A direct link can also be shared. If you click this link, you will be sent to the crowdfunding campaign page without having been invited. On this page, you will be able to contribute. You can choose how much you'd like to contribute, fill in your personal details, choose your preferred payment method, and make your contribution.

Can I contribute anonymously?

Yes. It is possible for the organiser of the crowdfunding campaign to make all contributors invisible, but even if they have not done this, you can choose to make your name invisible.

What is the minimum amount I have to contribute?

The minimum amount you have to contribute is €1.

Is there a limit to how much money I can contribute?

No, there is no limit to how much money you can contribute. You can only contribute €2500 per contribution, but you can do this however many times you like.

Spending the collected money

When will I receive the collected money?

The organiser of the crowdfunding campaign can choose when to spend the collected money. The deadline does not have to be expired to do this.

How will I receive the collected money?

The organiser decides when to transfer the collected money to a bank account. When you're signed into Kadonation, you will find your crowdfunding campaign in your list of money pots. When you click on the link to your crowdfunding campaign, you will find the option to spend your money on the right. You will then be able to choose to request a bank transfer. You will be able to choose how much of the collected amount you'd like to transfer and fill in the required details. The money should be transferred to the bank account of your choosing within 3 business days.

Can I spend (a part of) the collected amount while my campaign is still running?

Yes, that's definitely possible. You can transfer (a part of) the collected amount to a bank account while your crowdfunding campaign is still running.

Can the person I collected money for take control over the money?

The organiser of the crowdfunding campaign is the only person who can spend the collected money. This means that the organiser has to fill in the bank account information when transferring the money.

What if I haven't reached my goal?

Setting a goal is completely optional and doesn't have to be reached. Goals can be set to inform contributors of how much money is needed, but there are no consequences to not reaching your goal.
