You Lucky Bird aims for a world without waste, for the current and next generation, by making the economy circular.
The Lucky Cup is produced in the Netherlands from domestic coffee grounds. If the cup is no longer usable after long-term use, you can return it to You Lucky Bird. The old cup is crumbled and forms the basis for a new cup. Completely circular, in other words. This way, we contribute to the useful reuse of part of the 250 million kg of coffee waste incinerated annually in the Netherlands.
Part of the proceeds are used to finance two education projects in southern Ethiopia. Coffee farmers still receive too little money for their coffee and are often unable to finance their children's schooling. We now pay school fees, clothing and a meal at lunchtime for at least 50 children. In doing so, we also give them a sense of being a Lucky Bird. This is how we invest in the coffee farmer of tomorrow.
