… a Senior Back-End Engineer who will be the driving force behind our secure, reliable, and scalable appli­ca­tion archi­tec­ture. You are an expert in cloud-native devel­op­ment, effort­less­ly trans­lat­ing complex functional spec­i­fi­ca­tions into clean, efficient, and per­for­mance-optimized code, thus laying the foundation for our future growth.

Your area of respon­si­bil­i­ty is built around 5 key pillars that ensure the technical health and innovation of our platform:

• Code Quality & Delivery: You develop and launch new features and bug fixes, ensuring the code is clean, efficient, secure, includes com­pre­hen­sive test cases, and is optimized for serverless envi­ron­ments.
  
  
• Archi­tec­ture & API Design: You design, build, and maintain robust, secure, and well-documented RESTful APIs with detailed API spec­i­fi­ca­tions. Fur­ther­more, you review the technical blueprints (battle plans) of your colleagues, with a strong focus on scal­a­bil­i­ty and resilience.
  
  
• Standards & Doc­u­men­ta­tion: You define and enforce strict coding standards and best practices, pri­or­i­tiz­ing security-first devel­op­ment and per­for­mance opti­miza­tion in a cloud envi­ron­ment.
  
  
• Team Enablement & Mentorship: You con­tin­u­ous­ly share advanced technical insights to help the team grow and provide guidance on complex problems and archi­tec­tur­al choices.
  
  
• Codebase Health & Support: You improve the existing codebase by refac­tor­ing it to be more performant, secure, readable, and extensible. You also provide advanced technical support for tickets that require your deep expertise

You have built up at least 5 years of experience:

• Expert-level pro­fi­cien­cy in PHP using the Laravel framework, optimized for serverless functions.
  
  
• In-depth expertise in Cloud-native devel­op­ment on platforms (e.g., Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure).
  
  
• Mastery of database tech­nolo­gies (MySQL) and caching systems (Redis).
  
  
• Solid knowledge of API Design (RESTful) and experience with Con­tainer­iza­tion & Orches­tra­tion (Docker & Kubernetes).
  
  
• Knowledge of Dutch is a nice plus

Experience leveraging AI tools (e.g., code assistants, debugging tools) to increase efficiency while main­tain­ing a deep, inde­pen­dent under­stand­ing of the underlying code is a sig­nif­i­cant plus.
