Gifts from the heart: donate your gift to these charities

By Isabel

Your employees can spend their Kadonation Gift Card at more than 1,000 retailers. But perhaps they’d rather put a smile on someone else’s face than spend the value of the gift card on buying presents for themselves. And they can with Kadonation! Part or all of the amount can be donated to a variety of charities.

The gift of a better world

At Kadonation we have our heart set on helping anyone who – for whatever reason – could use a bit of extra support. That’s why anyone can donate the value of their Kadonation Gift Card to a range of charities. So if your employee decides they don’t really need a gift for themself right now, the Kadonation Gift Card recipient can simply donate the amount to one or more non-profit organisations instead of spending it at one of our gift partners.

Support these charities

In addition to our standard’ gift partners, you can also choose from a wide range of charities or non-profit organisations. The amount that your employee would like to donate is sent in full to the non-profit organisation. This means they really can make a difference to someone else.

These are the non-profit organisations that your employee can support through Kadonation:

Kinderkankerfonds

The Kinderkankerfonds provides financial and psychological support to children with cancer and their families. While a treatment significantly increases the chances of recovery, it’s a long road and it’s also very expensive. That’s why Kinderkankerfonds is there to support the children and their families as they persevere with the treatment.

Make-A-Wish

Make-A-Wish is a non-profit organisation that makes dreams come true for children with life-threatening illnesses. Since it was founded in 1990, Make-A-Wish Belgium-Flanders has fulfilled the wishes of more than 3,000 children. And in the Netherlands they’ve helped over 6,000 children since 1989. Every day, they try to bring hope, strength and joy to these children.

WeForest

Under the motto Making earth cooler’, this non-profit organisation restores forests in tropical countries by planting trees in Ethiopia, Zambia, India, Tanzania and Brazil. In doing so, WeForest is working on a scalable solution for a cooler climate, more biodiversity and less poverty.

Kadonation donates 1 tree to WeForest for every €100 of Kadonation Gift Cards sold.

11.11.11

11.11.11 brings together 60 organisations and around 20,000 volunteers to form 330 local groups, all committed to one common goal: a just world without poverty. In short, 11.11.11 supports people living in precarious circumstances and fights together with them for a dignified existence.

Ondernemers Zonder Grenzen

OZG (Entrepreneurs Without Borders) plant forests at the edge of the desert to combat desertification caused by climate disruption. In doing so, they also provide employment and prosperity. This then ensures that migration stops and that various Sustainable Development Goals are achieved.

SOS Kinderdorpen

A happy home is a basic right for any child. Yet around 220 million children worldwide grow up without the loving care of a family. When children are left to take care of themselves, their safety, development and future are at risk. That’s why SOS Kinderdorpen (Children’s Villages) ensures that children can still grow up in a loving home and enjoy a normal childhood.

Pink Ribbon

Pink Ribbons mission is to fight breast cancer. They do this in two ways: by encouraging prevention and early detection, and by focusing on the improvement of the quality of life of those facing breast cancer, both during and after treatment.

Sportpret

Sportpret vsw uses sport and relaxation to promote the quality of life and social development of underprivileged children. Children have the right to the space to play and do sports. This is not only good for their physical health, but also important for the personal development of the child.

Bednet

Bednet vzw ensures that children and young people who are off school for extended or regular periods of time due to illness, surgery, an accident or pregnancy can still follow the lessons in real time. And from the comfort of their own home. This is free for both the family and the school.

Feestvarken vzw

Feestvarken is a non-profit organisation founded in 2013 with not one but two missions. First and foremost, they aim to give children from families in poverty a birthday to remember with a fun party pack. The second mission of Feestvarken vzw is to shine a light on child poverty in Belgium. On their website you can find out how you can make a difference to children in poverty on their birthday!

Damiaanactie

Damiaanactie is a Belgian medical development NGO that since 1964 has been fighting against poverty-related diseases like leprosy, tuberculosis and leishmaniasis. They have projects in Africa, Asia and Latin America, but also in Belgium. They always work as part of national programmes and with local teams.

Goudhaantjes

Goudhaantjes encourages children with a serious illness or disability to develop their personal talents together with their families. Together with other children they explore what inspires them. This strengthens their self-esteem and resilience.

CoderDojo Belgium

CoderDojo is a kind of digital scouts. Once a month, children and young people come together for free to fully immerse themselves in a digital project.

Dominiek Savio

Dominiek Savio guides, supports and creates opportunities for people with a (neuro) motor disability or acquired brain injury (ABI).

Charcot Foundation

Multiple sclerosis is still incurable and often results in disability. The Charcot Foundation provides intensive support for scientific research in Belgium.

Pulmonary Hypertension vzw

Pulmonary hypertension (PH) is a disease that creates high blood pressure in the blood vessels of the lungs (blood circulation in the lungs). It is a serious condition that has a three-year survival prognosis without treatment – there’s still no drug to cure the disease. Fortunately, research has been carried out in recent years and in many cases the disease can be stabilised, thanks to this foundation, among others.

These are the current non-profit organisations you can contribute to through Kadonation. This is how we’re doing our bit to make this world a better place for everyone!
